About

Mike Relm

After forming the Turntable
Terrorist duo in 1995, this San
Francisco-based scratchmaster
has climbed ever higher in the
charts as a world-caliber
turntablist. Having worked with
everyone from Streak, Blackalicious
and Meshell Ndegeocello
to Money Mark and the Yerba
Buena All Stars, Relm is one of
the reigning stars of the
turntable realm. Mike Relm is
best known for his live shows
where he simultaneously mixes
audio and visuals in real time
using a DVJ (the tool which
allows DJ’s to scratch and mix
DVD’s). It’s not just hip-hop
anymore! Relm creates pieces
using anything from Bjork to
Radiohead to 80’s jams. Take
special note of his integration of
pop culture references such as
the Simpson’s theme song
remixed for ravers and rockers
and DJ friendly Pulp Fiction and
Office Space clips. Relm has also
performed with notable hip-hop
artists Money Mark, The Gift of
Gab, and Jurassic 5.
