About

Job For A Cowboy

since circa 2003
In well over a year after their solidified line up, 2 years after their conception in 2003, Job for a Cowboy made their debut EP, Doom, released in December 2005 on King of the Monsters (The Locust, Breather Resist, Creation Is Crucifixion). The band spent months in preparation in order to record the most powerful album they could. In songwriting, they constantly seek out opportunities to challenge themselves in mastering levels of technical achievements found in their wide range of influences.

Before the EP Doom was released, Job For A Cowboy played a consistent string of shows in their hometown. The band’s versatile fan base has allowed them to share the stage with everyone from Head Automatica, As I Lay Dying, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Evergreen Terrace, Origin, Disgorge, Haste the Day, Into the Moat, The Red Chord, and The Acacia Strain. Not satisfied with just playing in their hometown, JFAC tried relentlessly to play outside of Arizona. The band got themselves set up with shows in California with bands like As Cities Burn (Solid State), The Chariot, As I Lay Dying, and Through the Eyes of the Dead (which they played for free, just to get on the show). JFAC was also a part of the successful full US Steers & Beers Tour alongside From A Second Story Window, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, and Animosity. With amazing work ethics, this exceptionally motivated group of young men just out of high school has managed to do more on their own then most bands who have the support of a label behind them.

Job For A Cowboy is currently writing material for the Metal Blade Records debut which will be out in the Spring/Summer of 2007. Once the band got their new drummer Elliott, they realized they could do so much more musically because of how much of a superior drummer Elliott is. JFAC strayed from their beginning metalcore sound to a more death metal influenced style which will help the band continue to stand out amongst the current goings on in the scene. Once the band is finished with the recording process expect to see them hit the road delivering a furious live set that will grab the audience by the throat and not let go till the set’s over.
