Keith Baker

Born and raised in Victoria, Keith grew up playing several instruments and his talent & sion for music led to a career as a professional musician. As a drummer in the 1970's concert rock band “Holy Smoke”, Keith toured extensively and played at Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum opening for Blue Oyster Cult and T.Rex.
“We built everything ourselves from speaker boxes to stage and lighting systems because we couldn't afford anything. So, there was always this 'making it' kind of sensibility” Keith recalls. “If you want something and you don't have the money for it, you make it!”
After moving to Los Angeles in 1977 to further his music career, Keith played with some top talent but green card issues ultimately sidelined him. It was Keith's first major set-back but it was also a a turning point in his life, and a perfect example of a new door serendipitously opening.
“I found work as a handyman” Keith says. “I've always had a knack for making things, whether it was building tree forts as a kid or custom speaker boxes for my band. Creating has always been in my blood.” Excerpt from the article "Life lessons and healthy havens" written by Tess Van Straaten for Boulevard Magazine
