The side of Adams’ Food Fair on Haultain Street is home to an art battle between competing schools of Expressionist Painters. The owners, or colour-field painters, support artistic inquiry into the shades of white on their walls, encouraging the viewer to explore deeper into the shapes and crevices to create an overall experience that is introspective in nature. The graffiti writers, or active painters, prefer to allow raw emotion to spill across the canvas in dramatic contrasts of shapes and colour to visually delight and energize the viewer. The pigeon and struggling plants keep watch, wise to the fleeting whims of our aesthetic tastes.
